Singer songwriter: I write songs about standing in the middle of the road and wondering which way to go, about how others cheat us and how we cheat ourselves, about free-wheeling, bicycle riding, look-ma-no-hands exhilaration, and how it feels to say goodbye to summer.

Herb Scher is a singer-songwriter and magician. His song Tower Records is Gone was first performed at Sidewalk and eventually found its way into the score of the documentary film All Things Must pass about the demise of Tower. Today you are more likely to find him performing as a magician, in libraries, at private parties, corporate events and much more.

3:00PM The Vonnegut Hour:

Songs inspired by author Kurt Vonnegut in honor of his 100th birthday! These are songs written and performed by various BBC artists including singer songwriter Carrie Beehan and BBC founder Susan Hwang who has a kazillion Vonnegut songs. The hour is hosted by BBC Baltimore/DC founder, Sea Griffin and Susan Hwang.

SUSAN HWANG is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has toured internationally performing music and theater. She is the founder and director of The Bushwick Book Club–an international musical/literary crossover event and podcast. Lusterlit is her musical duo with songwriter/producer Charlie Nieland, and they refuse to play anything but songs about books. Susan plays accordions because they are pretty and lighter than pianos (barely). She plays drums because it's healthy for a girl to hit things.
